@the_farm_grind: 52% to 92% didn’t come from better genetics or throwing money at it. It came down to management. 🤔 The biggest one was feed and cow condition through the whole year. My cows used to crash in winter. My breeding season only starts on 15 November, so they don’t need to be cycling in July, August & September— but they do need to come out of that period in good enough condition to start cycling again by the time the bull goes in. A cow that’s still recovering from a September crash isn’t ready to fall pregnant in November. Once I closed that gap and kept condition up, they were cycling well and holding when it mattered. The second was a controlled breeding season — 15 November to 15 February. Instead of the bull running all year and hiding the problem, I could finally see which cows weren’t falling pregnant, and cull the ones coming up empty year after year. Those passengers were dragging the whole herd’s numbers down. Same cows, same farm. Better condition at the right time, and a system that actually shows you the truth. That’s the whole difference. Tell me - what does your breeding season look like? 🐂 #farming #agriculture #cowboy #country #cattle

Bareng Farming :
I personally don’t see any reason to do controlled breeding season….. am in communal land I keep my bulls 100 💯 in camp but they meet females daily

I’m not winning calving rate at 50% tried everything more bulls more feed still not winning. I’m now thinking communal land issues
