I'll predict one step further: The cost of the ride effectively drops to zero. Rides become subsidized by advertising. But not the way you think today. It won't be "Watch five ads to earn ride credits". It'll be an ad network on those screens that will charge you nominally for the destination you want, but let's say you wanted to go to Pizza Hut. Dominos might pop up and say "If you go back to Dominos we'll cover the ride to and from" - that's subsidized rides. You can go to Pizza Hut for a small price, or Domino's for free. That's what the future looks like.

I own a Tesla with fsd and I’m in agreement with the safety aspect. The other day, for sure I would have hit a pedestrian but the car stopped from a blind spot- satellite of course.

satellite driven cars what could go wrong. why not put them on tracks and utilize the cars we have now and retrofit them to power the grid. all of the rare earth strip mining that goes into building these the carbon footprint that people worry about launching satellites and the data centers that will need to run this thing all could be put on tracks.

It’s still not safer then us. People are developing the self driving plenty of room for errors. And people that take a tree and drive you somewhere where you don’t wanna go.
