@willtwitches: Everything from AA to indie has packed this year full of solid games. The party’s not dead, it’s just moved down to indie. Original video credit @CheckpointJordan #videogames #indiegaming #willtwitches
Game-wise, it's been great! company-wise....ehhh..

We’ve had Pragmata, Saros, Lego Batman, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy, Resident Evil Requiem and so many other great games and we STILL have the rest of September and the other 3 months left of the year

ive been saying this for a good few years now, but anyone who genuinely thinks gaming is dying or x year is a bad year, just isnt playing enough or broadening their horizons. because the same was said in 2023 where the largest hitters were the likes of Alan Wake, BG3, Spider-man and more. yet so mang people said it was a bad year. like.. what?

They say this every year. Next year people will complain that 2027 is a bad year for gaming and that 2026 was actually the best one we've had in years because of GTA6.

Pragmata, 007, and Romeo is a Deadman alone have me appreciating this year. Still needing to play star wars zero company, galactic racer, Lego batman, Blood of Dawnwalker, Wolverine (judging for myself), and more. 2026 is an amazing year for gaming.

Hey wanna know something really funny? 2026 has been the first year without a single majorly promoted BR or hero shooter release and this is the response from ‘gaming journalists’

Every year someone make the absolute idiotic take that it’s a bad year for gaming. Every year they’re wrong.

triple a games aren't releasing much this year because of that one game releasing in November (i'm talking about barbie rewind obbiously not the car stealing game)

This year Capcom has been killing it and indie studios are still coming out with great games like denshattack(if anyone seeing this comment hasn't played it pay it its hella fun with great music) and we still have more to come in the next 3 months. People gotta stop waiting for only the aaa companies to do something and look at aa - indie titles for more variety and quality.

People are really spoiled, is impossible to keep up with how many good games are coming out. Even if GTA 6 didn’t came out this year it would still be a great year. Companies are terrible thats true, but in quantity and quality we are in one of the best times for gaming.

My big 3 games are yet to come (Wolverine, Nivalis Nights and GTA VI) but even so, it has been an incredible year for gaming, especially indie games! Retro Rewind, Road to Vostok and Wasteland Bites are all incredible, and those are just a few from this year!

Pretty much agree with what you say, however I will say that E33 wasn’t AAA it was indie (AA at most) and didn’t have a big release. Part of the reason it was so good was because it just came out of nowhere with little to no marketing.

Do these people even like gaming anymore? The level of naysayers is getting silly, always looking for the negatives instead of enjoying the positives

Tbf majority of AAA games are coming out this month and obviously GTA in November. Not many AAA has come out this earlier this year

id argue the quality of gaming has never changed since the start and people are just bias to a year, game(s) or a decade

Expedition 33 was not a triple A game. But I was more so talking about titles that are cultural phenomena. This decade, we’ve normally had one by now this time of the year. Really haven’t had that and it’s mostly be decent well reviewed video games but nothing ground breaking or earth shattering. Its definitely lacking but years had prior. Couple with death of physical gaming, and mass layoffs I think it’s safe to say its a bad year for gaming.

okok, yall gonna have to release your lists of games because other than going back to my backlog of the past few years I've been very disappointed in this years releases. Specifically Vholume, its meh but when everyone recommending it is you like "IF YOU LOVED MIRROR'S EDGE..." like bro you may as well have recommended me CS surfing with how different this game is.
I get both sides tho, we all have different tastes but for me at least from the games I HAVE seen, I've not been excited for any and I've seen a lot of people share that sentiment

For what it’s worth, I could care less about GTA VI. Abiotic Factor: Entropic Break is looking like the highlight of my year. 🔥
