But when you try to bring THAT to their attention, it often gets dismissed or invalidated. The second pain point here is one that works on a more unconscious plane, and it’s that the caregiving parental advice that comes with conspiracy theories is often rooted in fear and rules, rather than cultivating: - emotional capacity - fostering self-agency - promoting self-belief It’s sort of like if someone asked if we could build a bridge together to be closer, and I respond with guidelines on how to not swim into the Bermuda Triangle. One builds emotional depth and security, and the other builds more surface level reactive fears and rule-governed connection.
