Chimera or maybe mosaic Down syndrome? I’ve seen a lady online who has mosaic Down syndrome and she’s got some finger asymmetry as well. Could always find out with a dna test. It would be good to test bc if you have mosaic DS your future (?) children have a much much higher chance of Down syndrome.

Sorry but why tf are we all skipping over the “my parents wanted me to use my right hand” part. Seriously wtf why in the world would they do that?

My Dad was born left handed in 1929, the nuns would tie his hand behind his back at school.

I think the most likely reason for this is a discontinuity of your deep palmer arch arteries, with asymmetrical perfusion by your radial and ulnar arteries, bilaterally. I think in your left hand, your radial artery is exclusively feeding your thumb, forefinger and middle finger and their associated metacarpals, and your ulnar artery is exclusively feeding your ring finger and pinky finger and their associated metacarpals. In your right hand, the radial artery is exclusively feeding your thumb and forefinger and their associated metacarpals, and your ulnar artery is exclusively feeding your middle, ring and pinky fingers and their associated metacarpals. The radial artery has a larger diameter than the ulnar artery, and therefore, the digits being fed by your radial arteries grew longer than the digits being fed by your ulnar arteries. Differentials include trauma to the epiphyseal plates during growth as well as some forms of mosaicism, but a vascular anomaly, like what I described, is far more probable. If you wanted, you could get an angiogram, vascular study or CT angiogram done on your hands and that would rule in or out a vascular anomaly such as a discontinuity of the deep palmer arch arteries.

My son is ambidextrous and his school did this to him when he was younger because they said he didn’t know which was his dominant hand so they forced him to be right handed… he eats with his left hand and writes with his right.. learning to jump rope was so hard for him

It makes me think of chimerism. Like you have two sets of dna taking turns building fingers.

Now I wish my grandpa wasn’t 2000 miles away. He’s 80 and was born left handed when it wasn’t ok and he literally had his left arm broken to train him to use his right but he ended up left handed anyway and now I need to see his hands

My brain immediately went to how much damage you could do with that knuckle on your left hand 🤦🏼‍♀️I don’t even know why. That shocked me.

all I see when you're gesturing is your hyperextending fingers! my best guess, look for a doctor versed in hypermobility spectrum disorders, friend, from one stretchy girl to the next

Why would your parents care if you were left-handed? That’s very unique and awesome. They forced you to be right handed. How did they do that?
