But confessions can take many forms. Sometimes, they aren’t about words, bouquets of flowers, or grand declarations made for the whole world to hear. Sometimes, they are a song, shared in the dead of night. A song titled "Darkness," paused at 1:23, with a total duration of 2:31. To some, it might just be a play on numbers—a mere coincidence. But for those who know how to read between the lines, the numbers themselves aren’t what matters. What matters is the desire to leave them there. Because a true confession doesn’t always sound like "I love you." Sometimes, it sounds like: "I remember." Sometimes, it sounds like: "This still matters to me." Sometimes, it sounds like: "I can’t say more, but I can leave a sign—one that only the intended person will understand." Perhaps that is why the most powerful confessions are never direct. They don’t demand an answer. They don’t require validation. They don’t need witnesses. They simply appear on the right day, at the right time, and remain in plain sight—a little secret hidden among millions of prying eyes. And if today truly is a day for confessions, then perhaps the most precious confession isn’t the one that is spoken aloud... But the one that remains between the lines, between the numbers, between the beginning and the end of a single song. Because some feelings are simply too vast for three simple words. And so, a person expresses them in the only way they know how: Quietly. So that only the person for whom it is intended can hear it. Back in 2015, at one of the fan meetings, Jungkook was asked about the meaning behind the numbers "123"—a sequence that he and Taehyung (often referred to as "Taekook") frequently used in various references. The options presented included: Taehyung’s birthday, "it means nothing," or "something special." Jungkook chose the latter, adding, "Only I know what it means." Since then, the sequence "123" has seemed to follow them—appearing in posts, videos, songs, details of their outfits, and what might, at first glance, seem like mere coincidences. Also of particular interest is the connection to the concept of "twin flames"—two parts of the same flame. This phrase even appears in an unreleased song by Taehyung titled "Mayube," which he shared during a late-night live stream in 2023: "You said that we are two parts of the same flame..." 1 represents self-awareness; 2, connection and partnership; and 3, growth and development together. In other words, it is a journey from "I" to "we." This brings to mind Taehyung’s own philosophy: not to rush, not to try to outpace time, and not to lose oneself in the frantic rhythm of life. It is about simply walking one’s own path, step by step, while noticing what is truly important. Perhaps that is precisely why "123" is so compelling—not as some "magic number," but as a small fragment of a larger story that keeps reappearing alongside them. What these numbers actually mean to Taehyung and Jungkook—only they know. But one thing remains a fact: years ago, Jungkook himself described "123" as "something special."
