GR IV wins by a massive amount. It's not just the 25.7MP vs 14.2MP difference. You get better dynamic range, high-ISO performance, stabilization, autofocus, processing and a lens specifically optimized for that sensor.

It’s a legitimate cheap APS-C snapshot combo if you want any small camera with AF and don’t mind 42 mm / f/4.5 / 2010 files. It is not “the cheapest GR IV.” The GR’s whole point is a purpose-built 28 mm f/2.8 pocket tool with modern AF, IBIS, and rendering. This combo only shares the crop-sensor class and a roughly compact silhouette.

The menu system on the older NEX cameras used to be atrocious. Not sure if they ever fixed it with firmware updates.
