@drnighatarif: In an eight‑week trial, people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who practiced either pursed‑lip breathing or structured laughter therapy three times a week had less breathlessness and better overall health than those doing no breathing exercises Techniques that worked: Pursed‑lip breathing: in through your nose, out slowly through gently pursed lips for twice as long, creating back‑pressure that helps trapped air escape Laughter therapy: short sessions of rhythmic clapping with vocal sounds, playful ‘motorcycle start’ or ‘lion roar’ laughs, then calm breathing with a smile to exercise breathing muscles and ease tension Ref: New Scientist: Laughter therapy may help people with chronic lung disease. 7th Sept 2026

mum :
Can you do something on Pulmonary Fibrosis. I’ve been waiting 3 months for a referral. I keep getting lost in the system. There is so little information out there . The Gp says I’ll be fine but just slower. I stopped looking on S/M as it was depressing me .
