You know his aorta ruptured why wait to go to an OR? That doesn’t feel logical.

Hi friends. Even in American healthcare MULTIPLE hospitals don’t have a cardio thoracic surgeon in house 24/7. They have on call for a reason. Even if they are in house, they still need to scrub in and prep the room/tools. Things aren’t immediate.

Used to work in theatre - a suspected AAA (confirmed via ultrasound) would be rushed into theatre in minutes. That & an ectopic pregnancy were the only things that got theatre staff really worked up. If that aorta goes for real he’s gone in minutes and it’s almost definitely leaking bad the colour he is!!!

side note, weird seeing my colleague on tv and tiktok ngl but dutchy is probably one of the best doctors i’ve ever had the pleasure of working with (i don’t work with him at royal melb, but i volunteer with him elsewhere), it probably seemed like he was down there a long time but i promise that he wouldn’t be wasting any time unnecessarily. that man was in VERY good hands.

if you're ever in such a situation Try to hold yourself together...try not to cry...you'll scare the patient into death!

Is surgery not an option?? this is a very fatal condition a ruptured aorta A RUPTURED AORTA, a blood vessel carrying oxygenated blood in the body. This is an immediate operation no matter what. In this video they just waiting for him to die. Like where is the care the patient needed. All that seconds, minute wasted waiting there. Like way too slow are is this even real or movie cuz if its real they not be wasting time, healthcare professionals do know tho.
