Apples take water from the ground to grow. There is a thing called the law of conservation of mass. The earth is a closed system. Things that grow still get their mass from the system.

to put things in perspective the earth is so big that all the mountains vallys and buildings and the oceans and everything on the surface... its still as smooth as a glass marble thats how insignificant everything on the surface is in comparison to the size

If you in the building and your tossing the pencil in the air over and over would that change the weight of the building constantly?

Even when water evaporates it feels like the weight goes away but the atmosphere absorbs it now search how much the atmosphere weighs

even things that grow (flora or fauna) get their extra weight from consuming other materials. trees gather water. animals eat food. growth doesnt come from nowhere

Pretty sure any ‘extra’ mass is just mass from somewhere else. Only asteroids and whatnot can add to the mass.

we shoot satellites into space which lowers the weight but have meteors fall to earth from space. so the weight does change and shift but who know how much it changes things

they for some reason don't really think of the air as having weight, so Frankie mentions a tree burning is a loss of mass when that mass just got integrated in the air has carbon, and then a tree growing from ground nutrients and photosynthesis from the air is gaining weight

The Earth is SO massive that if you got everybody on the planet to gather in a location and JUMP, the amount that it would move the Earth is impressively insignificant.

if you consider the Earth a closed system, then the mass doesn't change. the only time that the Earth's mass goes up or down is when energy or mass is added from space like sunlight and asteroids, the only time that it goes down is when we shoot stuff of the Earth like rockets and satellites. as for the second question, I think he is severely overestimating the weight of all of the humans and apples in comparison to the weight of the Earth

At least you can see the exact moment when he realises how much of a fucking stupid question it is. But he doubles and triples down for the sake of comedy.

Frankie is not wrong. This happened in China. They moved so much water it changed the axis of the earth. So not the weight but it being concerted in a specific spot it does change things about the earth.

okay so you have a two-part question. First part is where does the extra mass come from? the answer is it doesn't. we have stone quarries and iron quarries where we take dirt and rocks and from the earth and make a big a** hole, and we use that dirt and rocks to make concrete and iron and other s*** we use all that stuff to make buildings. we don't get any extra mass. the second part of that question is when we do that, when we take stuff and make it into make big buildings, does changing the placement of the rocks and s*** change the way the Earth spins? and the answer is yes but the Earth is so f****** monumentally large that it doesn't do a whole lot. like if we gathered all the people on Earth into the same spot and we f****** pushed off the Earth as hard as we could, like jumped as high as we could we WOULD push the Earth in a different direction, but by so little that it doesn't really make a difference. all 8 billion people on this Earth is so little compared to the size and mass of the Earth
