Honestly, this has so much more to do with low quality tools and low quality fasteners made of super soft metal than the drive style. Hex is not as good as torx, but is considered to be fairly difficult to strip out due to design. The false sense of security is from poor material and tool choices, not this drive type.

you can ram a torx bit onto a stripped hex. couple of seconds of blasting with a torch and then a few drops of penetrating oil will get it out
