@byjoanalacerda: Day 1 of becoming her - I have one year to completely change my life. The first thing I’m changing? My career. I’m currently transitioning from my 9–5 into freelancing, and these are the three things I’m doing to make that possible: 1- Building the skills I actually want to get paid for. For me, that’s content creation and video editing. Instead of waiting until I have a freelance job to start practising, I’m treating it like a hobby, spending my free time creating, learning and getting better. 2- Building a professional portfolio. I used my family’s wine business as an opportunity to create real content, working with fine-dining restaurants and five-star hotels and creating professional videos for the brand. That portfolio helped me land my first freelance video editing role. 3- Building my safety net. Before leaving my 9–5, I want to have enough saved to cover three to six months of rent and living expenses. I don’t want to make this transition from a place of panic.
