Hey thank you so much for attending and sharing your concerns. We’re happy to address all of the remarks: 1. The venue is who was handling tickets. We have contacted them and are awaiting for them to get back to us on the status of refunds. Due to this being a long weekend and national holiday we haven’t heard back. Soon as we do we will contact ticket holders. The reason we haven’t contacted ticket holders is because the venue has the contact list. 2. We did have a dj. The way that our show formats work is we start with a playlist, then go into live performances, then the dj to end the night. Due to the circumstances of the night we only got into 20 minutes of live performances and dj before we had to end the event. 3. We had a local Sudanese food vendor named Tagah who was there and stationed in the backyard. The way to access this vendor was through the side door. We were set to announce this but didn’t because non ticket holders were crowding that door to get into the venue and it would’ve became a safety hazard. We did have two vendors, Elrayah and 249 Kits. Both vendors arrived together an hour and a half into the event and due to the issues occurring outside had issues setting up. 4. Paid parking we sincerely apologize for this miscommunication. We should have done a better job letting those that purchased know where and how to redeem their validation codes. The venue was suppose to manage this when people checked in and this was mismanaged. We will work with them to issue refunds accordingly. We’re happy to get on a call with you to address your concerns more in depth.

If this was an American company, you definitely wouldn’t have your refund by now. You could return a basic shirt to Wal Mart tomorrow and they would still take 3-5 business days to get your money back to you. In their defense, this is not Nile Nights’ first time hosting an event. It seems like our lack of understanding of boundaries as Sudanese people clearly played a large part in how this all turned out. Of course the service is going to be impacted if there’s a major security issue happening. You’re asking them why they didn’t feed you when they barely got to start the program before things got shut down.
