Thomas Midgley one of the unluckiest scientists to ever live. He also developed the chlorofluorocarbons that are destroying the ozone layer. Later in life, key developed polio. He had developed an intricate contraption of ropes and pulleys to lift himself in and out of bed. One damn when he was alone in his home, he had somehow gotten himself Tangled in the ropes of this contraption and inadvertently hanged himself.
