Overlay railroad tracks on that diagram and they fit perfectly, both rails compressing toward the center. Everyone agrees that’s perspective, not curvature. Now rotate the overlay. 45 degrees — still fits. 90 degrees — still fits. Upside down — still fits. Every orientation, every angle, the tracks follow straight perspective geometry directly to the same vanishing point. That’s the test. If curvature were real, the geometry would only work in one orientation. A curved surface doesn’t produce straight convergence lines to a vanishing point in every direction — the lines would bend away before reaching it. But they don’t bend. They don’t exit the diagram. They converge cleanly every time regardless of rotation. Curvature is a surface property — it only exists in one orientation relative to the observer.
