@fairygriefmother: Life has taught me the hardest lesson: stop waiting. We spend so much time putting off holidays, adventures and making memories because we're waiting for the right time, more money or a better moment. But tomorrow isn't promised. Losing my partner changed the way I see everything, and now I'd rather give my son experiences he'll remember than keep saying “one day.” If this video reminds just one person to book the trip, take the photo, make the memory or tell someone you love them, then it's worth sharing. Life is happening now. Don't wait to start living 🙌🏻🛩 @VirginAtlantic thank you for helping to make this a trip of a lifetime ❤️ #greif #HealingJourney #travel #makingmemories
I totally agree and this is how I live my life now, I am genuinely excited for you. NYC is amazing, Ive been twice. We took the train to Washington and that is a really easy trip to do. Book all your museums for DC before you go, I didnt and there were no tickets left when we got there. The food in America is really expensive so we did eat fast food the entire time which the kids loved. Go to the top of Rockerfeller rather than the Empire State - its cheaper and also you get to see the Empire State. The first time I went we stayed in a beautiful hotel in the Bronx which was much cheaper, but a 30 min subway ride in. The second time we stayed near Times Square, tiny room but a central location. I went out to a Broadway show one evening just me and my daughter and didnt feel unsafe at all. NYC is the most amazing place x

When you go to the parks food and drinks can be expensive, visit Walmart or Target buy a cheep cool bag and take in some snacks and drinks , if you have a freezer where your staying put some water in the freezer the night before and then use them as the ice packs nice cold drinks all day (add a splash of squash if you don’t like plan water)

Honestly, Philadelphia is great! There is lots to do for kids your son’s age. My friend went over the summer and she said it was really safe. I used to live in New York until I was 13, my sister currently lives in Maryland and my dad is in Georgia. Feel free to DM if you have any questions!

I see many widows doing this while grieving. 16 months after losing my partner suddenly I think going solo travelling again would be healing for me but my nervous system is a mess and I can be triggered in day to day life and have to retreat to my safe space at home and regulate again. I’m anxious about this happening while solo travelling and not being to quickly get home

My son was 12 when he lost his mother, my beautiful wife she was only 46 bladder cancer. Six months watching her die slowly feeling useless. I feel your pain I wish you good luck in your running. I also live in East Anglia so I know you’re paying there too.🤣❤️❤️

Atlanta might be nice, it's on the way to Florida. I went to Orlando as a 13 year old, and the universal parks were WAAAAAAAAY better than Disneyland

we used florida tix, i think you have to book what days you want to go to the parks in advance. Disney is fantastic but if you want to cut costs then with a 13 yr old boy i'd concentrate on Universal parks . x

Check out attraction tickets for Disney tickets. Where we got ours from was 8yrs ago and if I remember rightly you can pay in instalments if that helps.

I took my youngest son (16) to Iceland last April, 6 months after we lost Brian, it was also brians birthday the same week which obviously made it harder..I was absolutely terrified of doing it alone but wow I surprised myself, we made the most amazing memories and I'm so glad we did it! You will be fine 💜 xxxx
