@downtoinvest: Brokerage account basics (investments) lesson 3 When I invest in my brokerage account I am looking for higher growth investments. Mainly because I have a higher risk tolerance and a longer time horizon, but also because they tend to be more tax efficient. Typically I will focus on index funds, ETFs and individual stocks. ✨For now I am sticking with a bit higher international allocation than most people may be comfortable with for now (some things in the US market make me a bit more cautious) I do rebalance my account frequently. 📌Overview (these are just examples): 50% international ETFs: VEA, VWO, VXUS 40% US ETFs: VUG, VTWV, VOO, QQQM 10% Stocks: Pick out ones that make sense for you :) The key for me = high growth (or at least what I am projecting to be high growth) and low annual tax impact Be sure to follow along @downtoinvest my brokerage account basics series next we are diving into how to evaluate investments to see what might be a good fit for your brokerage account. #financialliteracy Brokerage account, how to pick investments, index ETFs, non retirement investments Education only

i’m curious if you have a roth / ira, and how these investments differ? do they even need to? the etfs you mention here i currently use in my roth. when i open a taxable brokerage do i need to further diversify, or does the diversification across the etfs suffice?

Hey! Solid portfolio! If your goal is growth and you have a high risk tolerance, shouldn’t your portfolio lean more towards individual higher beta names as opposed to the 90% relatively stable ETFs you currently hold?
