There’s just something about homemade apple butter that feels like a warm hug from simpler days. 🍎🤎 Slow cooked apples, cozy spices, and a kitchen that smells like fall. RECIPE WILL BE BELOW! Spread it over a warm biscuit, a slice of homemade bread, or enjoy a little spoonful straight from the jar (because we all do that 😉). Homemade Apple Butter 🍎 Ingredients * 5–6 lbs sweet apples, peeled, cored & sliced (2,270–2,720 g) * ½ cup apple cider or apple juice (120 g) * 2 tsp cinnamon (5 g) * ¼ tsp nutmeg (0.5 g) * ¼ tsp cloves (0.5 g) * ½ tsp salt (3 g) * 1 tbsp lemon juice (15 g) * 2–3 tbsp maple syrup or raw honey, optional (40–60 g) * 1 tsp vanilla (4 g) Directions 1. Add apples and apple cider to a large pot. Stir in cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt, and lemon juice. 2. Cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until apples are very soft. 3. Mash or blend the apples. If you prefer a chunkier apple butter, use a potato masher and leave some apple pieces. If you like it smooth, blend until creamy. 4. Remove the lid and simmer on low for another 1–2 hours, stirring often, until thick and dark. 5. Taste and add maple syrup or honey if desired. Stir in vanilla. 6. Let cool and spoon into jars. Storage: Refrigerate and use within 1 week or freeze in freezer-safe containers. • • • • #simple #oldfashioned #homemade #recipes #fromscratch
