Gravity is a fundamental interaction that causes objects with mass and energy to influence one another. In classical physics, Isaac Newton described gravity as a force of attraction between two objects. The force depends on their masses and the distance between them: the greater the masses, the stronger the attraction, while the greater the distance, the weaker it becomes. Gravity keeps us on the surface of Earth, holds the Moon in orbit around Earth, and keeps the planets in orbit around the Sun. Later, Albert Einstein showed that gravity can be understood more deeply: massive objects curve space-time around them, and other objects move through this curved space-time. Gravity therefore affects not only the motion of matter but also light and the passage of time. For example, time passes more slowly near extremely massive objects, and light can change direction because of the curvature of space-time. The most extreme examples of gravity are black holes, where space-time is curved so strongly that even light cannot escape from inside the event horizon. Although general relativity describes gravity very accurately on the scale of planets, stars, and galaxies, scientists are still trying to combine it with quantum mechanics to develop a complete theory of quantum gravity. #gravity #it #programming #astrophysics
