I work in long-term care as a nurse. Every time we have a recreational activity involving music, residents usually cry because they remember something. Please visit them more often; many of our residents' families don't even visit, which makes me sad.

I used to care for a lady who was non verbal due to a stroke, but when I played “you are my sunshine” she would sing along clear as day 🥰 I’ll never forget her

my late mother's late stages of dementia she couldn't talk anymore but when my daughter put on dame Vera Lyn, we'll meet again, a song my mother used to sing a lot, she started humming the tune
