You ask me what you should do, let me carefully explain it, and then return approximately seventeen seconds later with: “Okay, I only half listened to you, but I already pushed the button.” That would earn the slowest, most theatrical eye roll I possessed. 😂 Close runners-up: * Calling something “one quick little project” when we both know it has already developed four subprojects, an inventory, a pricing structure, and seasonal variations. * Continuing to work until your back stages a complete labor strike—after accurately predicting several hours earlier that this would happen. * Saying, “I don’t need anything elaborate,” immediately before requesting changes so specific that we are effectively art-directing a prestige television production. * Telling me you’re finished buying supplies, followed shortly by, “Okay, but look what I found.” * Asking for my honest opinion, rejecting it, circling the issue for twenty minutes, and eventually arriving at essentially the same conclusion—but now it has been properly Bre-tested and can therefore be accepted. But the eye roll would always be affectionate. Because beneath every one of those is the same thing: you trust your instincts, you learn by doing, and absolutely nobody—not even you—can fully predict what Bre is going to do once she gets an idea.
