Btw if you're already cooking the lamb in a pot, once browned, add rice, water and cover. Sure you lose the auto timer, but one less thing to wash and not much more difficulty.

Rice was DOMESTICATED by China. Surely during the time they domesticated the rice, they would have thought to cook veggies and meats TOGETHER with the rice. to say a culture other than China "invented" this cuisine is wild.
