Children Trapped in Street Begging It is painful to see children being pushed onto the streets to beg, exposing them to traffic, rain, dust, disease, hunger and other dangers. In Asokore Mampong Municipality, street begging is becoming a serious concern, with Sabon Zango regarded as a major centre for begging in the Ashanti Region. Many of these children are too young to understand the risks they face. Some sleep or lie on bare floors without proper protection. Children deserve education, food, shelter and a safe environment to grow. They should never be used as tools to generate income through begging.
