when you read ra9292, the law defining the practice of electronics engineering in the Philippines, computer engineering is literally just a subset of ece. so if you want a lower, easier degree with no licensure examination requirements, take cpe.

Semiconductor Companies are literally composed of 80% ECEs. I know because I work in one. Sa panahon ngayon, broadcast engineering isn't even considered by newly licensed or fresh grads ECEs anymore. It's either semiconductor/Electronics industry, AI or IT companies and Network Operations Companies. Halos wala nang nagwowork sa Telecoms industries dahil mababa ang starting. Ayun ang current trend for today's ECEs.

I agree with the comment section here. Semiconductor companies still have more employees who graduated with ECE and Electrical degrees. That's primarily because they're heavily involved with circuit design, both analog and digital, as well as power electronics. Although tama rin naman sa part na they deal with signal processing, communications and more, mas focused parin ang curriculum ng ECE towards electronic circuit design, which is super important when it comes to semicon companies since practically, ayun yung minamarket nilang solution.

CpE student here, sa sobrang broad ng CpE yung mga ME, EE, ECE, CE at iba pang engineering courses idagdag pa ang IT nagawan ko na ng thesis nila. Sa CpE para kang master of none kasi halos lahat ng engineering related na discuss sa amin.
