I studied the people in Scripture who went from having very little to becoming wealthy. And I noticed something: They all had these three things in common. 1. They did their work with excellence. They didn’t do things halfway. Whatever was in front of them, they did it well — not just for money, but for God. Colossians 3:23 says: “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.” They understood that the quality of their work was a reflection of who they served. 2. They were hardworking and took initiative. They didn’t sit around waiting for opportunities to find them. They worked. They noticed opportunities. They took responsibility. They acted. Proverbs 10:4 says: “He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.” Notice the word diligent. Biblical prosperity was never built on laziness. 3. They didn’t chase quick money. They weren’t obsessed with getting rich overnight. They built. They worked. They were patient. They trusted God with the process. Proverbs 28:22 warns: “He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.” And there’s one more thing they understood: They honored God with their money. Not just with their prayers. Not just with their words. With their finances. Proverbs 3:9 says: “Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase.” They understood that money was not their god. God was. And that changes everything about how you work, earn, save, give, and build wealth. Biblical wealth was never about getting rich as fast as possible. It was about becoming the kind of person God could trust with more.
