@abc7chicago: A resident of Scottsboro, Alabama, captured the moment a tree across from her home cracked in half under pressure from strong winds as severe thunderstorms swept through the area on Saturday, September 5. “I purposely started recording because I’m surrounded by some of the oldest trees in our town and every time we have high winds large branches break. I have witnessed it many times,” Amber Gilbert told Storyful. “I knew that tree already had one big limb fall the last time we had strong winds. When I felt the pressure in the air change I knew it was microbursts because we deal with them often in our area,” she said.
