@younggrowersclub: It’s that time of year where I start thinking about which tomatoes seeds I want to save so I can grow them again next year. With that in mind I thought I’d reshare this video I made last year which I thought might be helpful 🍅 My favourite tomatoes I’ve grown this year have been my tiger ones which are long with yellow and green stripes. They’re so sweet and look really fun so I’ll be following this process to save as many seeds as I can. I’ll share part 2 in the next few days ☺️ #savingtomatoseeds #savingseeds #garden #growyourownfood
I pop on kitchen roll and dry it, and plant the paper. Works well

You don’t need to do this. Just slice the tomato and put it in soil. You still get tomatoes

Its also easy to wash them with cold water while gently rubbing them to remove the jelly coating and then let them dry on a sunny place ( not too hot! ) on baking sheet and after 2-4 days put them a in a paper bag!

I've been growing them for six years successfully, I just spread the seeds onto a sheet of paper towel (straight from the tomato) and let it dry out for a day or two and then fold the towel up in my seed box for next year. I peel the seeds off in early March to sow them and I've never had anything less than a 90% germination success rate 🤷♀️
