Replying to @lani_vet2802 I recently had someone ask how I was able to perform TCA CROSS as an esthetician, since traditional TCA CROSS is generally associated with much higher concentrations of TCA.. So I wanted to break down how the method itself works, and how I’m able to incorporate targeted application while still working within my scope! There is a lot we can do as estheticians beyond just applying one peel or doing your standard layered peel, BUT this is not something I recommend jumping into without a lot of experience working with different acids, understanding how they interact, proper client selection and proper skin prep! For some context, I worked with this client for over 3 months before I ever introduced the CROSS method. We progressively worked her skin up to this treatment, which was especially important given her skin type and risk for pigmentation. And to my fellow California estheticians already thinking, “Cool, just in time for us to lose TCA in 2027.” 😂 I KNOW I don’t have the perfect replacement yet, but I’m researching what our options will be because I refuse to believe we can’t find a way to achieve similar results without TCA! And regardless, understanding the method and the science behind WHY it works is still incredibly valuable!!
