@wombsoftheworld: Gratitude for My Wombs of the World Sisters Some moments remind me exactly why I do this work. Yesterday, I hopped on a Zoom call with six incredible birthworkers—six women who, just a few weeks ago, stood beside me in Tanzania, witnessing birth, sharing wisdom, and holding space for one another. As we spoke, we were each sitting in 5 different country, spread across 4 continents, time zones, and realities. We come from different backgrounds, belief systems, birth cultures, yet we share one heartbeat: birthwork. 💛 We are united in our fight to improve global maternal health. 💛 We are connected through our reverence for the absolute miracle that is birth. 💛 We are held together by our unwavering commitment to supporting birthing people. In a time where so much feels divisive, where fear and uncertainty loom heavy, I am reminded that this work is bigger than all of us. If you are feeling lost, drowning, or questioning where you fit into this movement—let this be your reminder: Your lane is birth. Your lane is care, compassion, and presence. Every time you show up for a laboring person, every time you listen, advocate, and hold space—you are doing the work. Birthwork is an act of resistance. It is an act of hope. And I am so grateful to be in this work alongside all of you. We alchemize the rage. We take the injustice we see and turn it into something meaningful, into something that builds, uplifts, and heals. To my Wombs of the World sisters—thank you for reminding me of this truth.
