I’m not trying to add to your sadness, but instead making something positive from a awful situation and for anyone who reads this should take this as a lesson to ALWAYS make sure your travel insurance will cover the worst events. The financial burden that’s passed into your loved ones is devastating. My brother fell badly in Croatia and cost us 10s of thousands for his care there and removal to the UK. We are lucky he is still here with us but the costs were overwhelming and still paying for it 4 years later. I know in this economy no one wants to pay more, but please think of your loved ones when you book travel insurance and take it seriously.
