I'm literally this close to making a video essay about the lawlight subtext in the show 😭 There are so many moments implying that Light has an emotional attachment to L and pushes it down in favor of achieving his goals. Literally "L is going to die so easily?" my brother in christ if you want Rem to kill him have her kill him don't give her fifty rules about not killing him until you say so.
