Made it today. I only put the gems on the Ribbon bows. And then sprinkles on the frosting! Much better idea!

had the gemstone cake of my dreams, did extra thick icing all around the cake and after we took the candles out we used a knife to scrape off gems/the excess icing and then cut slices from there!!!

Are we really acting like we didn’t have cupcakes with plastic rings in them growing up? I think it falls on the guest and I hope they’re using a fork 😂

I had mine made by the cake boss and it was mostly rice cereal, dowels, and fondant. The gems were the least of our problems

You make your friends toxic boyfriend that you don’t like pick off all of the stones and if he misses any, everyone gets to throw gemstones at him to shun him

Gemstone cake maker here 👋 I washed them before I used them. Cut the cake with the gemstones on it and everyone took their gems off with their fork! It’s a lot of admin for a cake but it looks soo cute

I don't know why people insist on putting nonedible decor on food. There's plenty of pretty stuff that can easily be consumed.

Okay everyone is saying they’re edible and it is very important to me that people know that the majority of these cakes have NOT used edible gems. You can see the foil silver backing on them. Half the time they show the bags they come in. They’re just rhinestones they are plastic and not edible at all most of the time. Logistical nightmare to me
