Yes it is true. We are in Boynton and our house was struck last year and it hit my roof and traveled to my shower pipes and out of that side of the house and burst the shower pipes. They are copper pipes and conductive. I was in the bathroom when it hit about to shower. The fire captain said I am lucky I was not in the shower. The lightning storm today was wild. FL is the lightning capital of the country. Stay safe

That is NOT made up. Showering during a thunderstorm is dangerous because lightning can travel through a home's plumbing and water supply

You should not shower during a thunderstorm because lightning can travel through your home's plumbing and the water inside. They're actually a truth behind it.

Friends house down in Kendall many years ago… Tree next to the house took the strike and it blew out every appliance and every toilet. Had somebody been in the shower, I don’t know what would’ve happened but it would’ve been bad. Lightning will also come through and un blinded window. The chances of it happening are low, but it does happen.

One thing you shouldn’t do is use your phone while it’s charging. A woman and her baby that was sitting on her lap were electrocuted because she was using her phone plugged into the charger. The wall around the outlet was burnt. I’ve been in FL and I never knew this.
