🚨🏖️ BUSINESS OWNERS: DID LABOR DAY WEEKEND DISAPPOINT THIS YEAR… OR WAS IT JUST ME? Labor Day fell about as late as it possibly can this year — September 7 — and walking around Ocean City this weekend, I kept thinking: WHERE IS EVERYBODY?! 👀 This is normally one of those weekends our beach businesses COUNT ON to finish the summer season strong. But from what I personally saw… 🚗 No completely stopped, bumper-to-bumper traffic like you’d expect. 🍹 Some of the most popular bars and clubs didn’t seem to have the crazy lines I’m used to seeing. 🍽️ The restaurants and bars we visited weren’t overwhelmingly packed. 🏖️ And overall, town just FELT slower than I expected for Labor Day weekend. But that’s only what I saw — and I want to hear from EVERYONE ELSE. 👇 BUSINESS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES & LOCALS: HOW WAS YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND? Was business UP or DOWN compared with a normal Labor Day? And I’m especially curious about people OUTSIDE Ocean City… 🌊 Rehoboth? Dewey? Bethany? Fenwick? Virginia Beach? Myrtle Beach? Outer Banks? Jersey Shore? Other vacation destinations? Did your tourism market experience the same thing? If Labor Day is one of the weekends you count on every year to END THE SEASON STRONG… DID 2026 DELIVER OR DISAPPOINT? And here’s the bigger question: 💡 WHAT CAN OCEAN CITY DO DIFFERENTLY NEXT SUMMER TO MAKE LABOR DAY WEEKEND A MUST-VISIT EVENT AGAIN? More events? Concerts? Festivals? Family attractions? Business promotions? Better regional marketing? Something completely different? I want IDEAS in the comments — not just complaints. And if you know any Ocean City or Worcester County elected officials, tourism leaders or decision-makers, TAG THEM BELOW. 👇 I’d genuinely like to hear their thoughts too. Because this is EXACTLY the kind of conversation local business owners should be having TOGETHER. 🌊💼 And on OCTOBER 12TH, I’m hosting a huge Coastal Business Leaders END-OF-SEASON NETWORKING & MASTERMIND EVENT at Ashore Resort in Ocean City from 6–9 PM. Let’s get hundreds of local entrepreneurs, business owners and community leaders in the same room and talk about what WORKED this summer, what DIDN’T, and what we can collectively do better in 2027. Because I believe in one thing strongly: 🤝 COLLABORATION OVER COMPETITION. We’re fighting many of the same battles. And most of our businesses aren’t actually identical. Stop automatically looking at the business down the street as your enemy. Sometimes the person you think is your biggest competitor could become your best referral partner, collaborator or source of the next great idea. 🔥 THERE’S ENOUGH BUSINESS FOR ALL OF US — ESPECIALLY IF WE WORK TOGETHER TO BRING MORE PEOPLE HERE. So tell me below: 📉 Was Labor Day slow for YOUR business? 📍 What town or vacation destination are you in? 💡 And what ONE thing should Ocean City do next summer to make Labor Day weekend HUGE again? Tag a business owner who needs to be part of this conversation. 👇 #OceanCityMD #OCMD #OceanCityMaryland #LaborDayWeekend #SmallBusiness
