Team Spirit is a European esports organization founded in 2015. Originally established as a Russian organization, Spirit gradually became one of the most successful esports clubs in the world, competing in several disciplines including Counter-Strike and Dota 2. Its Counter-Strike division spent its early years developing within the CIS scene before beginning to establish itself internationally. The organization underwent numerous roster changes during its early history, eventually building around in-game leader Leonid "chopper" Vishnyakov and rifler Boris "magixx" Vorobyev. Spirit's breakthrough came in 2023, when the organization promoted several players from its academy to the main roster, most notably Danil "donk" Kryshkovets and Myroslav "zont1x" Plakhotia. The young lineup was later completed by the arrival of elite AWPer Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov, creating one of the most talented young cores in Counter-Strike. In early 2024, Spirit announced itself as a true international powerhouse. The team dominated IEM Katowice, defeating FaZe Clan in the Grand Final, with donk producing one of the most spectacular individual performances ever seen from a teenager. Spirit continued its successful year and eventually reached the Perfect World Shanghai Major. There, the team defeated FaZe in the Grand Final to win its first Counter-Strike Major Championship. Donk was named Major MVP, becoming the youngest player in history to receive the award. The Shanghai victory established Spirit as one of the defining teams of the CS2 era. The roster combined chopper's leadership, sh1ro's elite AWPing, magixx's experience, zont1x's consistency and donk's extraordinary mechanical ability. Rather than relying on established superstars, Spirit had developed its own generation of elite players, with donk quickly becoming the face of the organization. Spirit remained among the world's best teams throughout 2025. The team reached the Grand Final of IEM Katowice, won PGL Astana and later claimed IEM Cologne 2025. However, the year also brought significant roster changes, with magixx and later zont1x being moved to the bench and replaced by younger players. Despite these changes, Spirit remained competitive at the highest level. At the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, Spirit reached the semifinals after going 3–0 in the third Swiss stage. Although they were eliminated by Team Vitality, donk once again delivered an extraordinary individual performance, finishing the tournament with a 1.57 Rating 3.0, one of the highest ratings ever recorded at a Major. His performance earned him a place among the tournament's EVPs. After Budapest, Spirit entered another period of reconstruction, with long-time captain chopper and zweih being moved to the bench before magixx and zont1x returned to the active lineup. Despite the constant changes, the organization's philosophy remained the same: develop young talent and build championship-level teams around it. Team Spirit's Counter-Strike history is ultimately a story of development, young talent and transformation. From a developing CIS organization to Shanghai Major champions and one of the most feared teams of the CS2 era, Spirit established itself as a club capable of producing superstars rather than simply buying them. Its greatest symbol is donk, who went from an academy prospect to Major champion and MVP in less than two years, becoming one of the defining players of modern Counter-Strike. - @sp1rt671
