Not sure if I’m adding anything at all or just rephrasing or going in circles but I’ll throw something out there: There seems to be a distinct discomfort with any shades of grey. There seems to be such a distinct fear of any “harm” being caused what so ever even if unintentional, that things must be collapsed into “good” and “bad” and if not obviously good it must be bad until proven other wise. This seems to manifest as being unable to accept growth, catastrophic categorisations, contextual flattening. It goes back to the risk, the shades of grey are seen as inherently risky and therefore to be avoided at all costs

Elite Capture. The intentional misrepresentation of this phrase, racism, feminism ect in the main stream is louder than the people coining the phrase.

I hate to bang on but could some of this just be the result envy and jealousy? Like I’m 28, I still live with my parents, I’ve been screwed on every single right of passage of my 20s. The job market sucks, I can’t afford to date, I live outside the big city so my social and dating life sucks… it could be SO easy for me to be really jealous as hell… it would be really easy for me to get on my high horse and reframe that as “oh actually I’m better than you cause I’m not a partying degenerate”
