Diagnosed Bipolar . for a period of time the medication was largely infective . I agreed to have ECT with the hope of some improvement

My diagnosis was missed for 20 years because I was always asked if I went days without sleep. In reality, I was sleeping 3-4 hours a night, so I said no.

Unfortunately a lot of psychiatrists do not screen for mania /hypomamia even when the patient is hospitalised for severe depression. And I am talking even about developed countries like Australia. This is why they often miss bipolar diagnosis

4 years down the drain of not s h and then I did it terribly for a week straight now I have more scars and I don't know who else to tell anymore so I'm just screaming this into the void at this point
