it doesn't help that a lot of Americans refuse to subtitles. they miss out on so many excellent foreign films because no dub and refuse to read.

The problems is that local theaters in a majority of cities don’t have screaning of the lesser known movies, sadly. There are a lot of new movies I’d like to see that simply aren’t available.

I don’t understand why all these comments are replying by just saying theaters have gotten expensive or their local theater doesn’t play many of the new releases. I don’t go to the theater more than two or three times a year for a variety of reasons (location, budget, chronic pain, etc) and I still see many many good recent movies every year as soon as they come out on streaming/rental platforms?

Okay BUT to be fair- I feel like when SOME people say “they don’t make good movies anymore”, they mean COMPARED to the 90’s and 2000’s…. Like the lineup for the Oscar’s, and simply the sheer amount of movies that we deem- to this day- as like 5/5 movies- some all came out IN THE SAME YEAR. Now I’d say we get some good ones, but not AS MANY…..

If it weren't for watching you, I wouldn't have even HEARD of a bunch of the movies you mentioned. It's not that theyre not making good movies these days, it's that they're not MARKETING the movies well.
