@hustlersnthehood: Van Britton was driving through Virginia Beach on the way to a friend's house two weeks ago when she saw a little boy on the side of a busy road. Five years old, backpack on, crying, about to cross by himself. She let him get across, pulled the car over and started looking around for a parent. Nobody. "Where's your mom? Where's your dad? Are you lost?" He told her the school bus dropped him off in the wrong place. He didn't know his address or his mama's number, but he was set on walking home. So she walked with him. She found his name on the tag of his backpack, called the school system and found out he goes to Tallwood Elementary. They tracked down his mother, who called her and came to meet them. Then the part that got her. The boy was never supposed to be on a bus. He was signed up for aftercare. Nobody can explain how he ended up alone on the street. "It's about having a conversation to say what can be done to fix something that's kind of broken." Virginia Beach schools have not answered yet. #HustlersNTheHood
