@theujushalom: The Dangote Refinery IPO is getting a lot of attention, and yes, you can apply with as little as ₦5,250. But being able to invest doesn’t mean you should invest money you cannot afford to lose. Your school fees, house rent, emergency fund or money you need to sell your property for should not be what you’re putting into a stock simply because you have high expectations for it. A stock can go up, and it can also go down. That’s why risk management matters, even when you strongly believe in the company. And remember, the IPO is not your only opportunity to own the shares. There is the IPO stage, and after the shares are listed on NGX, they can be bought and sold in the general market.
