Great explanation doc. However, as pharmacists, we advise that they don’t combine herbal and pharmaceuticals. Like you said, the herbal may already contain pharmaceuticals that are producing the effect, leading to overdose if combined. Also, we can’t determine the drug interactions without knowing the exact chemicals in the herbal product. So it’s better to stick to one and then monitor for toxicity and efficacy. Easier to find the culprit too if something goes wrong.
