It might be because carousels are so simple to create—you could probably churn out hundreds of them each day, whereas making high-quality videos takes more time and effort. That’s just my take, but feel free to think about it for yourself.

Not certain about the US but this has happened in the UK too, basically sellers can now set a separate rate for photo posts and TikTok has automatically set it for them at 30% of the video rate. Sellers can change this and many will but most of them don’t yet know how or are even aware that this has happened. Some said they can’t even find the setting to change it. This rate doesn’t affect tiered commission or commission boost though, and any previous photo posts done before this change won’t be affected.

I’m assuming because it’s easier to create. Just snapping pictures is lower effort. Not entirely sure though. 🤷🏼♀️
