@wxdmkeyz: Don’t make every percussion element loud—make every percussion element have a purpose. Start by EQing each percussion to give it its own frequency space. Remove unnecessary low-end rumble with a high-pass filter, then control harsh or boxy frequencies. For example: * 🪘 Shakers: Keep them crisp and slightly wide. * 🥁 Conga/Bongo: Give them enough midrange to speak without fighting the vocals. * 🔔 Bells/Rims: Control the upper mids/highs so they don’t become piercing. * 🪘 Toms/low percussion: Keep their low-mid energy controlled so they don’t compete with the kick/bass. Pro move: Use small amounts of saturation or compression on the percussion bus to glue the elements together, then automate individual percussion levels so the groove stays dynamic. Mix the rhythm, not just the sounds. If removing a percussion track makes the groove weaker, you’ve probably mixed it correctly. #MixingTips #Mixing #MusicProduction #afrobeats #audioengineering
