The governor gave the assurance on Monday while inspecting ongoing rehabilitation and development work at the facility in Teboga, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State. President Bola Tinubu had approved the establishment of four new Nigerian Army divisions, including the 83 Division in Benin. Okpebholo said work was already progressing at the site, with environmental sanitation, rehabilitation of existing structures and other preparations underway. He added that contractors had promised to deploy more bulldozers to accelerate the work and ensure the facility was delivered within the stipulated period. The governor said alternative temporary office spaces were also available if required, stressing that Edo State was fully prepared to host the new Army division. Speaking after the inspection, Commander of the 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Ahmed Balogun, said the visit was part of efforts to implement President Tinubu’s directive for the immediate operationalisation of the 83 Division. Balogun commended Governor Okpebholo for providing the temporary facility, noting that significant progress had been recorded since the Army’s previous inspection about four or five days earlier.
