i dont agree with ur interpretation, mine (not saying im right) is that the visionary "lies to himself" meaning that hes capable of noticing and learning that he sometimes lies to himself, because hes a visionary, while the simple liar will never be able to understand the lies he tells himself thus creating a false idea that "the liar" only lies to others.

By lying, the liar contradict what he believe to be true which make him a hypocrite. does that any better? not to mention, vision that based on irl statistics and logic exist.
