I think cheap crosses the line when it comes to giftgiving. I don’t think one needs to go overboard when giving gifts, but I love giving. I don’t want to go broke during Christmas, and at the same time I enjoy buying for others.

I think of this example. Frugal “hey are you running any deals or promotions today? No? Okay, thank you!” And going on. Cheap- throws a fit, makes a scene, very demanding, etc. I hope that makes sense what I’m saying.

I have a shop at a flea market. I love frugal people, they appreciate a good deal and the understand the value of a bundle. The cheap ones are those that are flaunting their money but want a $1 item for $0.50.

to me cheap means inconveniencing or taking advantage of others to save a buck. frugal just means not purchasing things that you don't see as worth the money when something else or skipping it is just fine for you.

Frugal is when you are at home and family, cheap is when other people can see and feel your cheapness. When I have visitors I don’t mind splurging on them or paying for dinner. I also turn down the AC for more comfort. It’s not very often they visit so when they do, I make the extra effort

Cheap is a mindset- cheap people get excited by how cheap they are and it becomes almost addictive because they keep looking for more extreme ways to save money to the point they are missing out in LIFE. It’s never treating themselves and living for the next cheap brag. 100% you are not cheap. You live in comfort. Frugal people have splurges on things that are important to them. Cheap people have really no splurges.

I like to think about how much I make per hour then ask myself would I work blank amout of hours just to buy the item. that helps me decide.
