The main problem is getting into a relationship with a highly sensitive person when you’re a logical type. Like, they complain to you about something, and you solve the problem—or at least suggest a course of action. They say, "Oh yeah, you're probably right, I'll give it a try," but then they never actually do anything. And when you eventually break up, it turns out YOU were actually a cold person who never really cared about their partner. Like, WTF, man? Personally, I view using my intellect to help someone as one of the highest forms of validation; yet in situations like the one I described—and I repeat: *in my personal opinion*—your help (or even the attempt to help) gets dismissed, effectively devaluing both your intelligence and your genuine interest in the partner. Guys, if you just need someone to pity you and hold you for hours, just say so—don't waste your own time and nerves, or anyone else's. In the past relationship I mentioned, I was upfront from the start about how I operate—what I’m like and what works for me. I made it clear: if that didn't suit them, they shouldn't be with me, because this is who I am. The fact that they kept seeing me made me think they’d heard me and were okay with that dynamic. Apparently not. 🧐
