A true Christian is he who eats the Word and applies it in their lives. He who doesn't quit when it becomes overwhelming but instead meditates in the area he needs to work on. Reflects and sees what caused him to react in that fashionable way and thinks of a substitute that's aligned with the Word and sets it up as what I like to call " mental alarm" so when a similar situation presented itself, you take action with the new solution, letting go of your old ways of dealing with that scenerio. It's a process. This is how you know you are a reborn individual, for the old is dead and gone away, and behold the new is here.
