Even if a child didn’t feel they would be in danger for wanting to leave their religion, they would feel that they had disappointed someone they loved. When it comes to religion, children don’t have a choice most of the time.

ooooh reclamation. I like that. you're definitely spot on. it's indoctrination. even as a child I was never comfortable with the "rules" and submission expected of women and knew that wasn't me. getting past the guilt that lingers even after all this time can leave one resentful. I love hearing other's experience. thanks for the post.🥰🥰🥰
