That was the fight we had when I worked at union coal mine. Non union miners laughed at us for paying union dues and then thought we should sympathize with them when one of there mines blew up killing and injuring a bunch of them

I was watching one of the 911 Memorials and a survivor said his boss told him not to go down the stairs and return to his desk. He said he heard his father's voice in his head telling him don't do something that feels wrong just to be compliant with your boss...so he turned around and walked down the stairs and lived. That is a dramatic example but staying for the pat on the head while ignoring your own ethics does have consequences

I don’t even get paid for Labor Day. The one day of the year we are supposed to celebrate the workers. I get the day off but I have to make up the hours or not get paid. Oh and I don’t have the option to work, I’m actually not allowed to.
